TAKE ACTION TO STOP THIEVES GETTING AWAY WITH STEALING YOUR BANK CARDS AND EMPTYING YOUR ACCOUNT
Hi its Deborah and Euzi,
TAKE ACTION TO STOP THIEVES GETTING AWAY WITH STEALING YOUR BANK CARDS AND EMPTYING YOUR ACCOUNT
Just a bit of information about fraud. You may not know but unfortunately the Police have a bad reputation about dealing with small fraud claim i.e. Your card and pin are stolen and you report it, it is likely that you will be pushed from pillar to post between the bank saying that they don't believe you and the Police saying it is for the Bank to try to assist and even when they are provided with evidence sometimes the Police may not take action because they need to be instructed by the Police. A big study has come out on this this week. There are however ways you may be able to help yourself.
If your bank card is stolen or your bank reports that there have been unauthorised use of your card, telephone the shop where the purchase occurred (there will be a note of the time that the purchase was made) they will have CCTV politely explain the issue and provide them with a full description of what you look like and ask them whether they can confirm whether the person on the CCTV looks like you, if they can confirm that they do not, they will not release the CCTV footage to you, so go back to the Bank and the Police and inform them of the evidence you have gathered and then begin to nag. If the bank are refusing to return your money because they are indicating that you took it yourself, this will prove to them that you did not. The Police will have CCTV footage of the person who has committed the crime. There are 1 million CCTV's in London however only three Police areas have the information on them linked up. Remember most company only keep CCTV footage for 28 days Please share this information it might stop someone from not geting their money refunded from the bank because of FRAUD
