GENDER PAY GAP IN MEDICINE

The Department of Health and Social Care has published its Gender Pay Gap in Medicine Review, which found that the gender pay gap for doctors is 17% based on total pay and the overall NHS gender pay gap is 23%. The update states that the majority of senior medical positions being held by men represents one of the main causes of the gender pay gap in medicine. The review is the most extensive examination of gender pay data ever conducted in the public sector. The review's initial findings also found that the general practice gender pay gap is 33%...
