Yet again we have had a tenant in front of us at the Free Legal Advice Service, who prior to taking up residence DID NOT take photographs (with date stamp, which can be added from your phone). Please, please, please, when taking up residence at a new address, regardless of the whether, the estate agency or landlord have said they would take photographs or do a check in TAKE YOUR OWN PHOTOS of every nook and cranny! And then SAVE THEM somewhere safe! AND make sure you have an alternative address for your so called joint tenant or at least know where they work! SO, WHEN THEY DO A RUNNER… YOU CAN PURSUE THEM FOR THE RENT THEY HAVE LEFT YOU TO PAY ON YOUR OWN!!
