RECIPROCAL HEALTHCARE WHEN WE LEAVE

Reciprocal Healthcare when we leave! The Department of Health and Social Care has published a policy paper to clarify the treatment that EU citizens will receive after Brexit. Including:

• clarifying that under the terms of the Withdrawal Agreement, the Government will treat EU citizens covered by the agreement on an equal basis with comparable UK nationals, whether they are in work, studying or job seeking
• clarifying that the UK government has stated that providing certainty for citizens is a priority and that it is unlikely for any deal on citizens’ rights agreed early on to be re-opened
• agreeing that it is a priority to treat healthcare as a priority in the final settlement of issues relating to the island of Ireland
