TRADE UNIONS CONTESTING LEGISLATION ALLOWING USE OF AGENCY WORKERS IN STRIKE

Hi, it's Deborah and Euzi Thompsons Solicitors has announced that it has written a pre-action judicial review claim letter to the government on behalf of trade unions coordinated by the Trade Union Congress (TUC). In its press release, Thompsons Solicitors stated that the government's newly laid regulations the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses (Amendment) Regulations 2022, SI 2022/852, are in breach of Article 11 of the European Convention on Human Rights and the UK-EU trade and Cooperation Agreement. The regulations will allow companies to use agency working during industrial action.
