The National Audit Office (NAO) has published a report following its investigation into UK government procurement during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The NAO report found that the government’s procurement lacked transparency and adequate documentation of key decisions, including why certain suppliers were chosen and how conflicts of interest were managed. The report also sets out key recommendations, including recommending that the government ensure basic information on contracts are published within 90 days of award and to ensure conflicts of interest and bias are considered earlier if a similar situation to coronavirus were to arise again in the future…
